A Mentally Healthy Nation For All
Where our society is equipped and informed—free from the stigma and bias associated with mental illness. At the APA Foundation, we focus on the nation’s most pressing social mental health issues across our society.
As the non profit programming arm of the American Psychiatric Association, we complement the professional work of the APA by administering public outreach programs and support—all aimed at eliminating stigma, overcoming mental illness, and advancing mental health.
Our public education programs are designed to educate, inform, and empower—working to overcome the stigma, bias, and lack of accessible information associated with mental health issues.
By providing resources to teachers, we can help connect millions of children affected by mental illness to care.
We provide employers with what they need to effectively support the mental health of employees and families.
The U.S. correctional system is the nation's top provider of inpatient psychiatric care. We need to change that.
In every program and initiative we back, we connect with people where they learn, work, live and worship.
As the charitable foundation of the American Psychiatric Association, we work to empower psychiatrists and other mental health professionals by raising funding for research, fellowships, and grants.
