As we face the COVID-19 pandemic, we know the mental health crisis that existed before is now even more urgent.
Community health systems are strained. Work has rapidly changed. Many Americans are now without jobs. Schooling looks vastly different.
The APA Foundation is helping community leaders navigate these challenges.
The Center for Workplace Mental Health, the leading provider of mental health resources for employers, released a resource on mental health, well-being and working remotely.
After the success of over 50,000 views in one month since its release, the Center is developing a second guide for employers on addressing the mental health needs of employees beyond the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Notice. Talk. Act.™ @ School approach is debuting a distance learning version of its mental health training for teachers and school administration, focused on staying connected with students while out of the classroom.
This is designed for schools already trained in the Notice. Talk. Act.™ @ School approach, but a quick reference guide will be available shortly for all general school populations.
APAF Fellowships are providing supplemental funding to our SAMHSA Fellows toward the development of resources and services that address COVID-19 and its repercussions on medical professionals and underserved populations.
The Stepping Up Initiative is now a crucial partnership focused on the work of reducing the effects of coronavirus on incarcerated populations. During this time of COVID-19, jails are acting to reduce populations and to enact physical distancing in a confined space. We encourage jail administrators to utilize this tool, Preparing People for Re-Entry, as well as this webinar on how to Release Individuals During COVID-19.
The Judges and Psychiatrists Leadership Initiative (JPLI) is working with partner judges to develop resources that consider mental health diversion and access as courtrooms move into virtual settings.
Building on the success of our Mental Health Training for Faith Leaders, we are developing a resource for faith leaders that addresses the unique concerns related to the pandemic.
