Awards for Advancing Minority Mental Health Application

Application Deadline:
The 2020 application cycle is now closed! The application deadline was February 1, 2020.

Recipients were notified in March 2020. The 2021 application process will open October 1, 2020. 

Health and mental health program and organizations which have addressed minority mental health, as outlined below:

  • Raise awareness of mental illness in under-served minority communities, the need for early recognition, the availability of treatment and how to access it, and the cultural barriers to treatment.
  • Increase access to quality mental health services for under-served minority communities.
  • Improve the quality of care for under-served minority populations, particularly those in the public health system or with severe mental illness.

Past award recipients are ineligible, unless applying for recognition of a new initiative, achievement, or program.

Mental health programs and organizations must have been in operation for at least two years before the application deadline (this includes new initiatives for past recipients).
