Across the country, communities and families are challenged by the prospect of sending children back to school. These unprecedented times have impacted us all. During this virtual town hall presented by the APA Foundation, psychiatric experts will participate in a candid discussion about what to consider when choosing to return to the classroom, how to keep both students and staff safe and mental healthy, how to notice changes in behavior that might indicate a need for support, and how communities can address barriers preventing youth from receiving mental health care.
The American Psychiatric Association Foundation is offering a virtual town hall with featured panelists: Saul Levin, M.D., M.P.A., FRCP-E, FRCPsych; Gabrielle Shapiro, M.D., DFAACAP, DFAPA; Louis J. Kraus, M.D., DFAPA, FAACAP; Anish Ranjan Dube, M.D., MPH, FAPA; Lisa Harding, M.D.; and Hector Colon-Rivera M.D., C.M.R.O.
The APA Foundation is non profit programming arm of the American Psychiatric Association, which provides supports to ensure access to effective mental health care and treatment. The Foundation supports the mental health of all Americans by raising awareness and overcoming barriers; investing in the future leaders of psychiatry; supporting research and training to improve mental health care; and leading partnerships and initiatives to address public challenges in mental health.
