Clinical Training

Education programs for health care providers that care for special patient populations.

Mental health care does not exist in a vacuum. It is often directly related to physical health, concurring as a cause or in reaction. With society's most pressing health issues, such as HIV/AIDS and the opioid epidemic, specified training for psychiatrists can help them provide better treatment to their patients.

The American Psychiatric Association Foundation has programs that provide training and education through various channels to thousands of clinicians and health care providers that care for patients with HIV/AIDS and patients treated with opioid therapies.
